An interactive reference point approach for multiobjective mixed-integer programming using branch-and-bound

چکیده
We propose an interactive reference point approach for multiple objective (mixed) integer linear programming problems that exploits the use of branch-and-bound techniques for solving the scalarizing programs. At each dialogue phase, the decision maker must specify a criterion reference point or just choose an objective function he/she wants to improve in respect to the previous ecient (nondominated) solution. In the latter case, a directional search is performed adjusting automatically the reference point used at each stage. Tchebyche mixed-integer scalarizing programs are successively solved by branch-and-bound. Postoptimality techniques have been developed enabling the algorithm to pro®t from previous computations to solve the next scalarizing programs. The previous branch-and-bound tree is used as a starting point and operations of simpli®cation and branching are then performed to obtain a new ecient solution. Computational results have shown that this approach is eective for carrying out directional or local searches for ecient solutions. Ó 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Stability analysis of efficient solutions in multiobjective integer programming: A case study in load management
This paper presents a multiobjective linear integer programming model for supporting the choice of remote load control strategies in electric distribution network management. The model takes into account the main concerns in load management, considering three objective functions: minimization of the peak demand as perceived by the distribution network dispatch center, maximization of the utilit...
متن کاملComputing the Pareto frontier of a bi-objective bilevel linear problem using a multiobjective mixed-integer programming algorithm
In this paper we study the bilevel linear programming problem with multiple objective functions at the upper level, with particular focus on the bi-objective case. We examine some properties of this problem and propose a methodological approach based on the reformulation of the problem as a multiobjective mixed 0-1 linear programming problem. The basic idea consists in applying a reference poin...
متن کاملGoal Programming Approach to the Bi-Objective Competitive Flow-Capturing Location-Allocation Problem
Majority of models in location literature are based on assumptions such as point demand, absence of competitors, as well as monopoly in location, products, and services. However in real-world applications, these assumptions are not well-matched with reality. In this study, a new mixed integer nonlinear programming model based on weighted goal programming approach is proposed to maximize the c...

We use properties ofquasi-concave of bilevel programming problems and decompose th...
متن کاملDiversity Maximization Approach for Multiobjective Optimization
One of the most common approaches for multiobjective optimization is to generate the whole or partial efficient frontier and then decide about the preferred solution in a higher-level decision-making process. In this paper, a new method for generating the efficient frontier for multiobjective problems is developed, called the diversity maximization approach (DMA). This approach is capable of so...
